Is The Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 Going To Be A Four-Cylinder Plug-In Hybrid?

Mercedes-Benz has been saying for a while now that they are going to be adding a plug-in hybrid powertrain to the next-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class and S-Class. Could that time be now?

There have been mumblings that the new Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 will be receiving an adaption of the M139 engine. This engine contains a 48-volt integrated starter motor that adds up to 22-horsepower and 184 pounds-feet of torque. Will it be the same in the new Mercedes-Benz AMG C63? Only time will tell, but we can speculate that this new plug-in hybrid will be quick, efficient, and stunning.

Spy Video Reveals The 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Decked Out In Camouflage

While there have been some sightings of the new 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan before, this latest spy video from walkoARTvideos on YouTube, shows that Mercedes-Benz is becoming quite comfortable with their camouflage lately. Only the bottom half of the model was covered in camouflage, revealing the upper half in all of its glory!

Can We Expect Plug-In Hybrids In The Near Future?

The Mercedes-Benz AMG models are made for high-performance and luxury, but now some of these outstanding vehicles will be expanding into the fuel-efficient plug-in hybrid section. Which ones may be making the switch?

According to Tobias Moers, the AMG boss, "...the AMG is working on a hybrid version of the four-door AMG GT as a competitor against the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid." He also mentioned that the Mercedes-Benz S63 and Mercedes-Benz C63 could also be potentially seeing a plug-in hybrid option.
