Mercedes-Benz has been saying for a while now that they are going to be adding a plug-in hybrid powertrain to the next-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class and S-Class. Could that time be now?

There have been mumblings that the new Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 will be receiving an adaption of the M139 engine. This engine contains a 48-volt integrated starter motor that adds up to 22-horsepower and 184 pounds-feet of torque. Will it be the same in the new Mercedes-Benz AMG C63? Only time will tell, but we can speculate that this new plug-in hybrid will be quick, efficient, and stunning.

When will the new Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 Plug-In Hybrid be released? It's rumored to be shown in the second half of 2021. Until then, the regular Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupes, sedans, and sportbacks will be available.
