The New Mercedes-Benz EQC Will be the Brand's First All-Electric Car

Electric cars, over the years, have become more and more capable. As their ranges and abilities grow, a wider range of drivers have been taking the plunge and ditching their gas tanks for batteries. With the new Mercedes-Benz EQC, Mercedes-Benz will be taking the plunge with them.

Set to hit dealerships in 2020, the Mercedes-Benz EQC will combine the best of the German automaker's luxury design with an impressive electric-only performance.

"The new EQC is a genuine Mercedes-Benz," said Mercedes-Benz CEO Dieter Zetsche in a comment. "This particularly applies to classic attributes such as quality, safety and comfort... The EQC is part of a growing family of purely electrically powered vehicles from Mercedes-Benz."

When you drive in the Mercedes-Benz EQC, you'll enjoy all of the style and amenities you'd expect from a luxury SUV. More importantly, however, the Mercedes-Benz EQC will offer some of the best performance available in an electric car. Its electric motor will deliver an estimated 402 horsepower with 565 pounds-feet of torque.

Where it will truly impress, however, is with its range. Experts estimate that the Mercedes-Benz EQC will be able to go 279 miles on a full battery charge. There are many smaller electric sedans that can't go as far.
